Subject: A True Taste of the Danforth Experience

Saul, I want to thank you for your genuine hospitality at our recent Taste of The Danforth Experience. When we decided to go this year, my main highlight was to meet you. I listen to you daily on Q107 talk about your great experiences, the people you have met, the travels you have been on and of course the great passion you have for Korry's. Well, not only did you treat us like family, and allow us to view your Wall of Fame, which by the way was incredible, you welcomed us in to your home and created a WOW experience for us. The hugs were the BEST!!!

Your store and your clothing line are indeed remarkable, and my husband can't wait to drop in to shop. Maybe I will surprise him with some Korry treats when I visit on your ladies shopping day.

Thanks again for being the Highlight of our day

To the President / Owner of Korry’s

Dear Sir:
Here are two truths I’ve learned to live with:

  1. People are too quick to criticize and too slow to compliment
  2. I hate shopping ! (really)

This is why I wanted to take the time to email you and let you know how happy I was with the service I received from Jerry Baker and with my purchases from Korry’s.

I recently purchased about $ 3000 worth of clothing at Korry’s. I brought my better half with me (who also loathes shopping!) to ease my pain of having to make “solo” retail purchase decisions. I have to thank Jerry for his patience and attentiveness to detail and the way he made us feel, quite frankly, as if we were his only customer.

When I called to see when my clothes would be ready for pick up, Jerry told me that he wanted to be in the store when I came in to ensure I tried on the clothes and that I was completely satisfied with the alterations. When I did come in yesterday to pick them up, Jerry was also kind enough to help me carry the four suit bags to my car!

It’s a pleasure to be served by a gentleman who knows his craft and obviously enjoys it, because it shows in his service, and prompted me to want to let you know.

I will be referring my friends to visit Jerry at Korry’s for their future clothing needs, with pleasure !

New customer

Hello Saul,
Just a quick note regarding our first visit to your store after hearing you on the radio for several years.
Our 17 year old son plays Jr. A Hockey and wears a suite to the arena almost every day, he has started to enjoy being well dressed and fashionable. So we decided to make the trip from just north of Toronto to find out what you are all about.
We were served by Justin Salvati on Saturday and I must admit that the over all experience was outstanding. In these days of poor service being the norm, Justin was anything but the norm. I was there with my wife and 2 kids and we had a great time. The service was great, Justin was fun to work with and with out being a pushy sales person worked the up sell very well. At one point he said NO, to a tie my son had picked out, he said the tie was too old for my son and he should get something a little funkier, which was very well received by me. It was not just a sale to him; he was making sure the finished look would be right.
Thank you, we will be back and looking for Justin.
Please let him know he did an outstanding job.

Subject: Happy customer

Hi Saul,

I was in your store yesterday and asked if the tailor could sew on a button on my Boss overcoat that had fallen off. He did, and as well he reinforced the rest of the buttons on the coat. But that’s not why I’m writing.

Your staff was, as usual, excellent. Frank Smith and Christina were professional and a pleasure to interact with. While I waited for my coat, they helped me pick out three pairs of pants, four shirts and a belt. Your staff seem to genuinely like helping me pick out clothes I’ll be happy with—and did not try to sell me anything under the sun and shoot me out the door, like I experienced a few weeks ago at your competitors.

I’m looking forward to coming back many times in the future. Please send my regards to Frank and Cristina.

Best wishes,

Bob McMurchy

Hi Cristina,

I’m writing to you in response to the very touching card you sent me and my fiance a couple of weeks back. It was totally unexpected but greatly appreciated. Thank you for your excellent service and hospitality in our first visit to Korry’s. You did an excellent job in making us feel comfortable and at ease with selecting the perfect suit for our Big Day.

Both Linda and I are very much exited as our wedding day approaches and we extend our heartfelt “thank you” once again, thank you!

I will definitely recommend you and the service you offer at Korry’s to anybody that will listen. We look forward to seeing you again in the near future and all the best to you.

Subject: There is a Superhero lurking at 569 Danforth Avenue

Saul,

I wanted to send you a quick note in praise of your salesperson Justin Salvati who was a hero on Saturday saving me from a fashion disaster.
I had been meaning to get into Korry’s all week to get a new suit and overcoat for the wedding I was attending on Saturday afternoon February 13 in Woodbridge. Got too busy with work and my various projects so here is my Korry’s to the rescue story.
On Saturday morning (Feb 13) I arrived at Korry’s at about 10am and asked for Justin (the guy who had sold me 3 shirts a few months earlier – and got the one I was wearing that day pressed --- it’s the little things that make the BIG difference)
I told Justin my situation. I thought the wedding was at noon. Justin had promised to have the suit ready for 11:30am so I would change at Korry’s and head to Woodbridge. Whey I got back home I checked the wedding invitation and realized I had the time wrong. The wedding was actually at 1:30pm and not noon I called Justin to let him know I’d be dropping by at noon to pick up my suit and coat. When I got there everything was ready and that is when I ran into you and Peter.
Justin helped me select a great navy blue Roberto suit and coat (on sale and in my size!). Franco the tailor was there in minutes to do take care of the basic alterations. Good old fashioned customer service!
You have an amazing employee in Justin Salvati and I know I’m going to tell my story to many people in the coming months in addition to coming back to Korry’s this Spring (once I drop another 30 lbs) to get some more suits and shirts.
I understand Justin is joining you on your business trip to Vegas this week. Have a great time and I’ll see you soon.
This morning I was discussing with Carol Cirillo your account manager at Q107 about a potential series of commercials you could do where you highlight your team at Korry’s (individual excellence team concept) based on the many instances where they are Superheros and come to the rescue of customers. I’m sure my story is only of dozens that should be told.

Have a BIG week.

Regards,
Pat

Dear Mr Korman,

I was in your store on Saturday to purchase a suit; (I recieved a gift certificate from the Fan 590).
I met one of your staff by the name of Daja who was the most pleasant and professional person to deal with.
She offered me a coffee, and made me feel like a long time customer.
I'm in sales and looking after your customers is the backbone of your business.
I look forward to returning to pick-up my suit and and thanking everybody for making me welcome in your store.

Subject: re: service from Cristina

Hi Saul,

I almost never offer my opinion about the quality of service I get from a store, whether it be good or bad but I am compelled to tell you of the excellent service Cristina Jordao gave me when I came in to buy a suit.
For years I have heard your ads on the Fan590 and found them to be personal and genuine.

I bought my wedding suit from your store years ago and was impressed with the expertise of your staff. Now years later with a couple of small kids and limited budget I new I had to buy another suit, probably just one that would do me for all occasions.
So a few weeks ago I walked into your store with my wife and my two daughters, age 3 and 5. I was reluctant to bring them because little kids in adult stores are not always a good mix.

Cristina did the following:

• Greeted every member of my family-wife and kids (wife sometimes gets ignored in other mens shops and kids never acknowledged.
• Got crayons and paper for the kids to draw with while I shopped. My oldest daughter was so taken with her that she drew her a picture
• Listened to what I wanted the suit for-understood that I probably only needed one - didn't try to sell me two
• Picked out a great Roberto suit, tie and shirt
• Wrote a thank you note

We found her to be professional, knowledgable, - great salesperson who I"m sure you know is perfectly in-line with the philosophy of your store.
I'm not sure when I will need another suit, tie or jacket but I will definitely call her up and shop at your store because my first experience with her was second-to-none. Shopping at another store for a suit would just be a disappointment.

You probably know this already about Cristina but I wanted to let you know our experience with her.

Thanks for your time,

Robert Murakami

Dear Mr. Korman,

I just wanted to send you a quick note to express my thanks for the help of Cristina and Sam today.
I came in to purchase a suit for my daughter's wedding next month. I don't buy a suit everyday and really didn't know what I wanted, however Cristina took me through your selection and offered much needed advice. I purchased 2 Roberto suits and everything I needed to go with them. Sam quickly measured me up for the alterations.

The friendly expert assistance is appreciated. The result is, I will be back in the near future for some casual wear , and I will certainly recommend your store to anyone looking for menswear.

Please convey my thanks to your staff.

Hi Saul:

Mr. Korry -
Just wanted to let you know that my experience at Korry's was once again superb. 2nd suit that I have bought at your establishment in the past 12 months and the first experience led me back a second time and will do so again when the need arises. Frank Smith has attended to me on both occasions and is great. Sent him an email ahead of time and he stayed around (I think after his normal hours) to make sure that all was OK. He is a great ambassador for your enterprise.
Hate to shop but like to in your store.
Much thanks and just wanted to say so.

Hi Saul:

I was into your store a few weeks ago and Frank took care of me. While I have shopped at Korry's before, I am by no means a regular customer. And I wasn't there to buy the most expensive brand you sell. That said, I was given outstanding service and consideration.

I listen to you on the radio all the time on AM640 and Q107.... I admire your sense of business and community-building and I felt good about supporting that approach by buying two Roberto label suits.

I live in Milton and commute into work in the northwest corner of the city daily. I just happened to be downtown that day and knew it was a great chance to drop into the store. Frank recognized that I had traveled a distance to shop there and arranged to have the slight alterations required to the suits to be done immediately; saving me a return trip for pick-up in the near future.

Anyhow, I just wanted to pass on my appreciation to you and Frank and to let you know that your advertising works - even for people who come from farther afield to get a good Korry's deal.

Thank you Saul and keep up the great work.

Best -
Keith Marnoch

p.s. my good friend Mike Monette sends his regards.....not having the chance to do so on the day I was in the store.

Hey Saul,
Just getting home after a long day.
Wore one of the suits I picked up from your store yesterday...it’s funny, when you look good, you feel good and everyone else around you feeds off that energy. Even got a couple of compliments about the suit. You can be assured that I let them know where I got it, that I certainly recommend your Roberto line and that Franco and Jerry looked after me so well and made me feel comfortable.
I’ve only got one problem… the next time you see me (in the not too far future), Franco or Jerry are going to have to show me where the staircase is… I’m coming for the Canali and the Boss I have my eye’s on.
Keep up the great work you do, not only in the store but everything you do for the people and community outside it.

Hi Saul:
I sent you an e.mail yesterday only to discover it was returned undeliverable. Anyway here we go again.
After listening to your ads for several years on the FAN, I finally made my first visit to Korry’s last month and bought 2 Roberto suits, 3 shirts, and 3 ties from your son Michael. When I went back to pick up the suits I bought 2 pairs of pants (he’s a good salesman). Yesterday my wife and I had several errands to run, including picking up the pants at Korry’s. I decided to dress very casually in nylon athletic pants and a zip sweat shirt and said to my lovely wife M™line (pronounced May Lynn), just watch this will be the day I meet Saul Korman looking like this!
And sure enough we walked into the store and there you were … doesn’t that just figure. Anyway, you are very gracious and it was a genuine pleasure to meet you after hearing your ads for all these years.
Thanks very much for the stories and the hats.
I look forward to shopping at Korry’s again soon.

Good Morning Saul,
Thanks for a great shopping experience. Normally I dread shopping for menswear because I end up dealing with staff that has no idea what they are selling. You and your staff are very professional and courteous which made the task of buying a suit a lot of fun. I will definitely be back and I have already told a bunch of my friends to go to Korry’s.
Going on the radio was also a great experience . . . maybe it is my big break for stardom.

First let me begin with an introduction, my name is Peter Glumac and I am from Port Elgin (approximately 4 hours from Toronto) and a first time Korry's customer. I keep hearing your ads, so I skeptically visited your store on the Danforth to see first hand what all the fuss was about. Well, aside from the great selection what hooked me onto your establishment was your knowledgeable and courteous staff who simply made me feel at home. Normally, I expect a certain degree of customer service but let me tell you that you have managed to exceed everyone of my expectations. I hate dropping names except in extraordinary circumstances but I have to tell you that Christina Jordao managed to both impress me with her customer skills and her honesty. She spent a lot of time helping me through the process and never once did I feel rushed or pressured, which is such a feat in today's fast paced, every minute counts world.
I rarely provide this type of feedback to a company, so on the rare occasion when it does happen I believe that you thank those who were responsible for the experience. So I thank you for seeking out the best employees and to Christina who delivered it to my level. You are now my exclusive clothing supplier.

A nice chance meeting with Saul Korman of Korry's Clothiers…

I needed a new suit so I decided to go to Korry's , 569 the Danforth. Just about everyone has heard Saul on the radio doing his unscripted commercials. I now know.. what you hear is what you get.

As I entered the store, there was Saul holding court behind a large crafted desk not far from the cash register. Where else would an Entrepreneur be ? I approached Saul and introduced myself ...immediately , waived to his friend at the table to give me his chair ... I hesitated but Saul insisted. "herbal tea" he asked . Before I could say anything tea arrived and a pleasant chat followed.

Then , now knowing I was a new customer, he asked.."who's up"….Frank Smith ascended immediately and out came the tape measure. next thing I knew I was being ushered into Saul's office as if it that was a right of passage . Saul was like a mother hen as Frank did his thing to be sure I was well taken care of. some 3 suits , 2 pair of slacks, 3 ties and 3 shirts later I met his master tailor. In no time at all I was done and at the cash with credit card in hand. Roberto. Saul's manager, hovered a bit to be sure all was fine ...and it was . Then Saul's son appeared and asked if there was anything else he could do. "A nice pair of those shoes would be swell" i said. My size not in stock I was told. ....boy did I love those shoes...next visit they will have my size .."see us in jan ..your new shoes will be here" said the younger Korman and Roberto.

Several days later , I returned to the store to pick up my purchases ...there was Saul again busy but not too busy to welcome me back and now promoting St. Maartin .. his favourite vacation spot . "you have got to go there Gordon" he said ...".you want a deal ? just let me know ".

I presented Saul with a mug'.. " it's the follow through that counts" is printed on it. Saul said he keeps all his treasured gifts.... he is keeping the mug so now I have other mug treasures to hand out in 2009 to special people .

I told Saul to go to my website as I had his ..and he will. He asked if i knew a Jerry Korman , a lawyer , in Mississauga ? "of course" I said" he is the best and my lawyer for all my clients" .

Seems Saul and I have much in common including a love of fine clothes and nice people.

Thanks Saul for making my visits to Korry's memorable . ..and see you one day in St. Maartins.

Gordon

Saul

Thank you to you and your staff for the outstanding service you provided last week.

I needed a new suit for the opening of the Regent Theatre in Oshawa on Saturday night, and came in Thursday to pick a Copley suit with Franco. I ended up taking 2 suits and they were tailored by Friday afternoon, and I enjoyed a great event in style.

Cheers!
